Change to Kookaburras, Fiji women pull out

The Australian men's hockey team have been forced to make an injury change to their squad for the upcoming Oceania Cup in New Zealand.

The Kookaburras have been forced to make a change to the squad announced for the upcoming Oceania Cup hockey tournament in New Zealand.

Goalkeeper Andrew Charter has been ruled out with a hamstring injury and has been replaced by West Australian Tristan Clemons. Clemons was part of Tasmania's bronze medal-winning team at the Australian Hockey League last week, playing as an interstate import.

Clemons most recently played for the Kookaburras at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in April when Australia's men won the silver medal after going down in a grand final shootout to New Zealand following a 2-2 draw. He was also part of the Australia A squad who played against Pakistan and Korea in May in Hobart.

In the women's Oceania Cup, there has been a change to the fixtures following the withdrawal of Fiji from the competition. The Hockeyroos' campaign will begin a day later and their showpiece clash with New Zealand Black Sticks has been moved to Saturday October 24.
