Chaser comedian shocks Kyle Sandilands

Is it too soon to start joking about missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370? Kyle Sandilands thought so when The Chaser's Julian Morrow did exactly that.

Even shock jock Kyle Sandilands was taken aback when The Chaser's Julian Morrow started cracking jokes about the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.

Morrow was speaking to Kyle and Jackie O on their KIIS FM breakfast show on Tuesday when he shared his theory about flight MH370.

"I'm not saying she's solely responsible, but remember Lara Bingle?" the comedian began.

"I know she normally does train wrecks or car crashes, but I think this could be a new twist by Tourism Australia as part of the Where the Bloody Hell Are You? campaign to encourage people not to go overseas."

But Sandilands felt it was too soon to start joking about the plane and its missing passengers.

"Hang on, so this is a joke segment?" said the stunned host.

"I didn't have any jokes written down, I thought it's way too soon. We don't even know where this plane is."

When Jackie O tried to steer the conversation back to safer ground, Morrow ploughed on and likened the plane's disappearance to Kyle and Jackie O's former employers.

"It's disappeared without a trace, maybe it's at 2Day FM?" he quipped.

Morrow later took to Twitter to explain himself.

He tweeted: "Kylie & Jackie Oh dear. Missing plane becomes radio train wreck. For what it's worth, here's some context".

In a statement the comedian said there had been a misunderstanding about what the show wanted to include in the segment.

"It's now obvious this is where a misunderstanding crystallised," Morrow said.
