Child among three WA meningococcal cases

Three more cases of meningococcal have been diagnosed in WA, bringing the total number in the state this year so far to 24.

A young child and two adults are recovering in hospital in Western Australia after being diagnosed with the potentially deadly meningococcal disease

They were all infected with serogroup W, which is behind a recent increase in the number of cases in the state, but the three cases are not linked.

So far this year, 24 cases have been reported in WA, including 17 serogroup W.
