The United Nations Children's Fund says thousands of Syrian children, some as young as seven, are fleeing their country unaccompanied, with around 2000 of them settling in Lebanon.

UNICEF's emergencies specialist Luciano Calestini is responsible for co-ordinating the Fund's response to the Syrian crisis in Lebanon.

He says unaccompanied minors are particularly exposed to abuse and exploitation.

He told Marina Freri that life for about 400,000 child refugees in Lebanon is extremely challenging.
