Children in detention protest to target PM

Protesters will target the prime minister's electoral office in Sydney to call for the release of children in detention.

Protesters wielding toys, school uniforms and books will target the prime minister's electoral office in Sydney over children locked up in immigration detention.

There are 112 children in detention in Australia and 95 on Nauru.

"We're taking toys, school uniforms, book and clothes to the prime minister's office to remind him of all that's been taken away from these children," Getup spokeswoman Sally Rugg said in a statement.
