China 'obsessed' with learning English

All Chinese public servants under 40 have been ordered to learn up to 1,000 phrases in English, and some kids are getting a headstart, Marcus Reubenstein reports.

Mastering English has become something of a national obsession in China.

All public servants under the age of 40 have been ordered to learn up to 1,000 phrases in English over the next five years.

Schools will soon begin to teach the language in kindergarten, but some children are already enjoying a head start.
