Talks between Labor and the government on passing laws on the China free trade agreement are progressing well, opposition trade spokeswoman Penny Wong has told her colleagues.
Senator Wong told the Labor caucus on Tuesday the government was acting in good faith and she was pleased with the response from Trade Minister Andrew Robb.
Labor has sought guarantees that Australians will be offered first go at jobs on major projects and that foreign workers' skills are properly tested.
