Chinese premier touches down in Canberra

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has arrived in Australia ahead of bilateral talks with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and an AFL footy match.

The Chinese premier has touched down in Canberra ahead of a seven-day tour of Australia and New Zealand.

Li Keqiang and his wife arrived in the national capital just after 11pm on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will host a special lunch for Mr Li in the Great Hall at Parliament House on Thursday ahead of bilateral talks and as well as an AFL football match on the weekend.
