Chinese tourist drowns in Qld hotel pool

A Chinese tourist has died after being found unconscious in a far north Queensland hotel pool.

A Chinese tourist has drowned after falling into a hotel pool in far north Queensland.

The man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was pulled unconscious from the water at a Palm Cove hotel, north of Cairns, on Wednesday night.

CPR was performed but he died at the scene, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.

It is not known whether the man was travelling alone or as part of a group.
