Chinese tourists flock to Sydney Harbour Bridge climb

A Chinese company has gone above and beyond to reward thousands of its highest-performing staff members.

A Chinese health company has booked the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb for a record four days as part of a reward for high-performing staff.

The Perfect China company flew 3000 of its best staffers to Sydney and booked the BridgeClimb from Saturday to Tuesday.

Small groups of employees have been travelling across the bridge and reporting magnificent views from the top.

“The expanse of water that you can see is amazing. It really is a life-changing experience, one we will remember, and one that will motivate us when we go home,” one employee told SBS,

“I'm very happy and I can't believe that our business was so generous to let us come to such a beautiful country like Australia, to a city like Sydney, and to go on the famous bridge," said another.

The booking is the largest in the BridgeClimb's 15-year history and is expected to inject millions of tourism dollars into the economy.

Climb leader Alex Cheng said the operation was running at "full capacity."

"It's very big for us," he said.

"At the same time we are trying to let everyone know that we have this very unique product to offer people in China."

Tourism Research Australia extimates that more than 383,000 Chinese people have visited New South Wales in the past year and spent more than $1.3 billion.
