Chlorine fumes shut down Melb waterslides

Children were treated by paramedics at a Melbourne swimming pool after they breathed strong chlorine fumes while using the centre's waterslides.

Water slides at a Melbourne pool have been shut down after 12 people were overcome by strong chlorine fumes.

Paramedics treated 11 children and one adult for chemical exposure at the newly opened AquaPulse aquatic centre in Hoppers Crossing on Saturday afternoon, Ambulance Victoria said.

Fire crews shut down the slides and they remain closed while investigations into the incident continue.
