Christchurch shaken by 4.7 earthquake

A strong 4.7 magnitude earthquake has shaken the city of Christchurch in New Zealand.

New Zealand's quake-struck city of Christchurch has been rocked by a 4.7 magnitude earthquake.

The earthquake struck around 10 kilometres southeast of Christchurch at a depth of seven kilometres on Wednesday night.

Thousands of people throughout Canterbury and Otago were shaken by the quake.
