Nationals MP George Christensen is promoting a new movement known as Queensland Conservatives.
The group has a website, queenslandconservatives.com, but the only item on the site so far is a form to register interest in receiving more information.
The group's Facebook page had 242 "likes" on Wednesday.
"I encourage conseratives in Queensland to join up to this new movement," Mr Christensen says on his Facebook page.
A coalition colleague, South Australian Liberal senator Cory Bernardi, has set up a similarly-named site, Australian Conservatives.

However, it is less secretive.
Senator Bernardi has made the technical and registrant contact information about his website publicly available through the WHOIS database.
But the details behind the Queensland Conservatives site - including who has registered it and their contact number and email address - are hidden using a proxy registration service called Domain Privacy Services.
Mr Christensen, who holds the seat of Dawson, has criticised the shortage of Queenslanders in the new Turnbull ministry lineup and has threatened to cross the floor on the superannuation policy taken to the election.
