Brisbane midfielder Allen Christensen should be ready for the start of the AFL season, despite needing finger surgery.

Christensen had a cyst removed from his finger last week and he will not play in their last two pre-season games.

He is already back at training, with Brisbane to start their regular season on March 27 in Perth against West Coast.

Christensen played in Geelong's 2011 premiership team before joining the Lions.

He played all 22 games in his debut season with the Lions last year and finished fifth in their best and fairest voting.
