The Facebook message was condemned by community leaders who said the views were not reflective of the majority of Muslims in Australia.
"When you say your neighbour and they're having a festive occassion, you should be happy that they're happy," Keysar Trad from the Federation of Islamic Councils told SBS.
The Facebook post has since been removed.
Samir Dandan, president of the Lebanese Muslim Association, told the ABC the post was an innocent mistake made by a junior staff member.
"From our perspective this is an innocent mistake done by a youth member employed by this organisation. We are basically not going to apologise for what I perceive to be an innocent mistake, not necessarily reflective of the true mindset and belief of this organisation."
