Cilic and Raonic added to Brisbane field

Marin Cilic, Milos Raonic and Garbine Muguruza have been included in the field for next year's Brisbane International.

Former US Open winner Marin Cilic, world No.9 Milos Raonic and Wimbledon finalist Garbine Muguruza have been added to the line up for next year's Brisbane International.

They will join defending champions Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova for the event beginning January 4.

With their inclusion, the field now boats eights top 30-ranked players and four grand slam champions.

Japan's Kei Nishikori has already been announced, setting up a potential replay of the 2014 US Open final with Cilic.

After an injury interrupted beginning to 2015, world No.12 Cilic went on to make the quarter-finals of Wimbledon and the semi-finals of the US Open.

The Croatian 27-year-old said he was hoping to use the Brisbane International as a springboard to early success next year.

"I had a bit of a break in the beginning of 2015, I had a bit of a shoulder injury so I got into the season pretty late, somewhere in mid-April and I'm still feeling really, really fresh for the end of the season and I feel that's going to help me," Cilic said.

Spanish World No.4 Muguruza enjoyed a breakout 2015, reaching her maiden grand slam final at the All England Club, in which she was defeated by Serena Williams.

"Wimbledon was amazing but I don't want to have a lot of expectations for 2016," she said.

"I want to keep the same, improving and thinking about every tournament and every match, because this is when I will improve and be better, just no expectations and be calm."

Men's world No.22 Grigor Dimitrov has also been added to the Brisbane International field.
