Citizenship recommendations backed: PM

Recommendations to amend laws stripping the citizenship from dual-national terror supporters will be seriously looked at, Malcolm Turnbull says.

The Turnbull government is likely to adopt changes a joint parliamentary committee has recommended for draft laws that strip citizenship from dual-national terror supporters.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull insists the new laws will go ahead, but amendments are being looked at by Attorney-General George Brandis before consideration by cabinet.

"You could reasonably expect the bipartisan recommendations of the committee to be taken very seriously into account," Mr Turnbull told 3AW radio.
