Climate finance body CEO resigns

The Clean Energy Finance Corporation, initially slated for abolition by the coalition government, has lost its founding CEO.

The head of the government's clean energy financier has quit, as the coalition wrestles with its climate change policy.

The Clean Energy Finance Corporation's founding chief executive Oliver Yates has advised the board of his decision to step down, but will remain as interim CEO.

"This has been a difficult decision but the timing is right. The CEFC is now well established, endorsed by the government, and has a robust pipeline of transactions," Mr Yates said in a statement on Wednesday.
