Hillary Clinton has scored a sweeping win in the US Virgin Islands, picking up all seven pledged delegates at stake as she inches closer to the Democratic presidential nomination.
She is now just 60 delegates short of the 2383 needed to advance to the November election.
The party said Clinton won 84.2 per cent of the vote, while Bernie Sanders earned 12.2 per cent.
It was the biggest margin of victory for a Democratic candidate in the Virgin Islands caucus since 2008, when Barack Obama beat Clinton 90 per cent to 8 per cent.
Based on primaries and caucuses alone, Clinton now has 1776 delegates to Sanders' 1501.
When including superdelegates, or party leaders who can support any candidate, her lead is substantial - 2323 to Sanders' 1547.
