Cloke stays as Silvagni to make AFL debut

Collingwood key forward Travis Cloke will play successive AFL games for the first time since April and the Silvagni name again features in a Carlton team.

Travis Cloke stays and Jack Silvagni plays.

As the Collingwood key forward retained his AFL spot for the first time in more than two months, Carlton added spice to Saturday night's clash by naming Silvagni for his senior debut.

The Silvani clan is revered at Carlton, with Jack's grandfather Serge playing 239 games for the Blues.

Stephen Silvagni, nicknamed "SOS" - Son Of Serge - is fourth on the club all-time games list with 312 and is now their recruiting manager.

Jack's debut has been much-anticipated since Carlton drafted him last year and he was named as an emergency for the round-12 match against St Kilda.

Now the third generation will debut against Carlton's arch-enemies.

Another week of fierce speculation about Cloke was also settled on Thursday when he was named in the senior team for the MCG clash.

Cloke has not played successive AFL matches since rounds three and four, fuelling talk about his future at the club.

He was dropped for Anzac Day, recalled for round 11, was dropped again and then kicked two goals in last Friday night's win over Fremantle.

Darcy Moore's return from a broken collarbone meant the Magpies might leave out Cloke once more, but Jesse White was the key forward dropped this time.

The Magpies also recalled veteran utility Tyson Goldsack for only his second senior game this season, while defender Jonathon Marsh has a calf muscle injury.

Jason Tutt makes way for Silvagni.

The Western Bulldogs reacted to the 55-point thrashing from Geelong in round 14 with four unforced changes for Saturday's must-win game against Sydney at the SCG.

Will Minson, Clay Smith and Lukas Webb will play their first senior games this season and Easton Wood is back from a hamstring injury.

They rushed back Jason Johannisen for his first AFL match since a serious hamstring injury in round four.

Tom Campbell, Fletcher Roberts, Mitch Honeychurch and Josh Dunkley were dropped, while Bailey Williams has a knee injury.

The Swans recalled Jeremy Laidler for Aliir Aliir.

Port Adelaide brought back Jay Schulz, Kane Mitchell and Jack Hombsch for Friday night's big home match against Richmond for Paul Stewart, Sam Gray and Dougall Howard (knee reconstruction).

Richmond named big men Ivan Maric and Ben Griffiths for Shaun Hampson (knee) and Jacob Townsend.

Jack Martin, Kade Kolodjashnij and Callum Ah Chee will come into Gold Coast's side for the Saturday home game against St Kilda, with Jarrad Grant and Mitch Hallahan dropped and Trent McKenzie (knee) injured.

The Saints named Tom Lee and Jack Lonie for Nathan Wright (shoulder) and Jimmy Webster (hamstring).
