As the Collingwood key forward retained his AFL spot for the first time in more than two months, Carlton added spice to Saturday night's clash by naming Silvagni for his senior debut.
The Silvani clan is revered at Carlton, with Jack's grandfather Serge playing 239 games for the Blues.
Stephen Silvagni, nicknamed "SOS" - Son Of Serge - is fourth on the club all-time games list with 312 and is now their recruiting manager.
Jack's debut has been much-anticipated since Carlton drafted him last year and he was named as an emergency for the round-12 match against St Kilda.
Now the third generation will debut against Carlton's arch-enemies.
Another week of fierce speculation about Cloke was also settled on Thursday when he was named in the senior team for the MCG clash.
Cloke has not played successive AFL matches since rounds three and four, fuelling talk about his future at the club.
