As the Collingwood key forward retained his AFL spot for the first time in more than two months, Carlton added spice to Saturday night's clash by naming Silvagni for his senior debut.
The Silvani clan is revered at Carlton, with Jack's grandfather Serge playing 239 games for the Blues.
Stephen Silvagni, nicknamed "SOS" - Son Of Serge - is fourth on the club all-time games list with 312 and is now their recruiting manager.
Jack's debut has been much-anticipated since Carlton drafted him last year and he was named as an emergency for the round-12 match against St Kilda.
