Coalition cuts non-government staff

The coalition has cut resourcing to non-government members of parliament by $6 million.

Ten staff will be cut from non-government MPs under a budget saving by the government.

The mid-year economic review said $6 million would be saved over four years from reverting to MP staffing arrangements which were in place before the 2010 election.

Labor boosted non-government MP staffing as part of the deal to secure minority government with the Greens and independents.
