Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has rejected the Coalition’s costings announcement as last-minute and lacking in substance.
In an interview with SBS reporter/presenter Sarah Abo today, Mr Rudd said the long-awaited announcement did not shed light on the Coalition’s planned cuts.
“Mr Abbott has been leader of the Liberal party for four years, he’s had five weeks in an election campaign, and now, 36 hours before polling day, we still have no comprehensive list of his major cuts to jobs, health and education,” the prime minister said.

“So if you have doubts about that, don’t vote for them.”
When asked if today’s announcement provided greater transparency, Mr Rudd said the Coalition had itself admitted “everything is not on the table.”
He said Mr Abbott was deliberately not disclosing “massive cuts to jobs, health and education,” to prevent scaring voters off ahead of Saturday’s election.
