Colbeck disappointed to be dumped

Former tourism minister Richard Colbeck says he's "extremely disappointed" to be dumped from Malcolm Turnbull's revised ministry.

But Senator Colbeck agreed with the prime minister that uncertainty surrounding his Tasmanian Senate spot made it impossible to wait for his return to be confirmed.

"The business of government is much bigger than any individual," he said in a statement on Monday.
