Coles will invest $360 million in Victoria, creating 3500 jobs as it builds and upgrades stores, the Victorian government has announced.
Premier Denis Napthine said 2000 of the jobs will be in retail and ongoing jobs while 1500 will be in construction.
Eight of the new stores will be in Melbourne and the metropolitan area.
"This decision by Coles of this massive investment, of these 3500 jobs, is a huge vote of confidence in Victoria," Dr Napthine told reporters on Wednesday.
