Colombian teen arrest over Vic sex attacks

There's been a breakthrough in a Melbourne sex attack investigation with the arrest of a teenager from Colombia camping along the Great Ocean Road.

A 17-year-old Colombian camping along Victoria's south coast has been arrested over a series of alleged sex attacks in Melbourne.

The teenager was found around midday on Friday at a campsite near Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road.

Detectives are questioning him over a number of unsolved sexual assaults dating back to November, a police spokeswoman said.

Police have linked three alleged sex attacks and the stalking of at least three women in Melbourne's CBD to the same man.

In the most recent attack, a 22-year-old woman was grabbed from behind early Saturday morning and forced into a secluded city stairwell near Southern Cross train station.

No charges have been laid at this time.
