Company behind Israel's first moon landing

Israel is set to become the fourth country to soft-land a spacecraft on the moon.

A historic lunar mission set to happen on Thursday night could bring some light to Israelis after a divisive election.

If the Beresheet unmanned spacecraft touches down on the moon as planned, it will be the first successful lunar mission by a non-governmental organization.

Israel will become the fourth - and smallest - country to soft-land a spacecraft on the moon, after the United States, the former Soviet Union and China.

The washing-machine sized object would be the smallest spacecraft ever to reach the moon.
