Company tax cut will be election pledge

The Senate has heard the coalition will go to the next federal election promising to deliver on its corporate tax cut.

Finance Minister Mathias Cormann says the coalition is committed to taking business tax cuts to the next election.

Senator Cormann told parliament on Monday cutting the tax rate from 30 per cent to 25 per cent for all businesses would protect jobs and future wage growth.

"We are absolutely committed to taking the business tax cuts to the election, hopefully having been legislated by the Senate," Senator Cormann said, in answer to a Labor question.
