Concern over Indigenous legal aid cuts

The federal opposition is concerned about the speed at which the Abbott government has cut $13-million dollars from Indigenous legal aid.

The federal opposition says it's concerned about the speed at which the Abbott government has cut $13-million dollars from Indigenous legal aid.

The government made the announcement in last month's budget update against recommendations from its own hand-picked Indigenous Advisory Council.

Acting opposition spokeswoman on Indigenous affairs, Claire Moore, told Biwa Kwan the government should have waited until after the May release of the Commission of Audit review into budget saving measures.
