Concerns over mouse plague

An explosion in the mouse population is causing major concern from South Australia's Eyre Peninsula through to southern Queensland, Luke Waters reports.

After a decade of drought and a spate of natural disasters, grain prices are steady and the seasonal outlook relatively positive for grain farmers.

But an explosion in the mouse population is causing major concern.

Cropping areas in the four eastern states are experiencing the early stages of the plague.

Affected areas stretch from South Australia's Eyre Peninsula through to southern Queensland.
