There have been calls for Australia to rethink its skilled migration program, amid concerns there's no enough training available for Australians working in certain professions.
In the last financial year, more than 110,000 skilled migrants were offered visas. The vast majority were from China. Britain was the second most popular source of skilled workers, followed by India.
Now the government is casting the net further, hoping to attract construction workers from the United States.
But not everyone is convinced that's the best way forward.
