With the US Open just two weeks away, Adam Scott believes he's primed for victory following a string of good results in his revamped schedule of 2017.

The 36-year-old Australian is confident of a dominant showing at this week's Memorial Tournament, where Scott has three top-five finishes - including a fourth in his most recent start (2014).

In his new-look schedule, 2013 Masters winner Scott will tee up in the tournament prior to each of the four majors in an effort to establish early chemistry with star caddie Steve Williams.

After a tie for ninth at the Masters in April and sixth at the recent Players Championship - regarded as golf's unofficial fifth major - Scott believes his efforts are about to pay dividends.

"It's all trending in the right direction. As always, my focus is on the four majors and the Players. With the schedule changes I've made, I've had my best results in the big events this year," Scott told AAP.

"My short game has been great, but practising for Memorial my ball-striking is the best it's been all year. I definitely feel big results can happen soon."

Scott says he's treating the Jack Nicklaus-hosted US PGA Tour event in Columbus, Ohio as seriously as a major.

The world No.10 Scott has fast-tracked part-time bagman Williams to Muirfield Village to begin a three-tournament spell culminating with the US Open starting on June 15 at Erin Hills in Wisconsin.

"It's an event I'd dearly love to win. Jack Nicklaus (hosting) is the number one reason, but it's also a good time of year to put your foot down for the FedEx Cup (points race), the majors season and the World Golf events," said Scott.

Compatriot Jason Day also has a spring in his step, with the world No.3 fresh off his runner-up finish at the Byron Nelson Classic two weeks ago.

The 29-year-old Day is hungry to vanquish a lacklustre record at his hometown tournament - the Columbus resident has never finished inside the top-25 in eight starts.

"I know I can play well at Memorial, I've just got to piece it all together with four good rounds instead of having three and a bad one," said Day, referring to his Sunday 74 en route to a tie for 27th in 2016.

A whopping 12-man Australian contingent at Memorial also includes seasoned pros Marc Leishman, Rod Pampling, Greg Chalmers, Steven Bowditch, Aaron Baddeley and Matthew Griffin, as well as youngsters Cameron Smith, Ryan Ruffels, Curtis Luck and Brett Coletta.

Adding to the Australian flavour at Memorial is the fact six-time Australian Open winner Nicklaus named former world No.1 Greg Norman as the tournament's honouree.

Norman, now 62, is the last Australian winner at Muirfield Village - his 1995 victory was the second of two triumphs at Memorial.
