The Chair of the Prime Ministers' Indigenous Advisory Council has weighed into the debate about Indigenous perspectives being taught across all subjects.
Warren Mundine has criticised the embedding of indigenous culture, especially in subjects such as science and maths.
But Mr Mundine has told NITV, he is pushing for Indigenous languages to be compulsory across Australia.
In January the Federal Government announced a review of the national curriculum.
Professor Barry McGaw is from the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority and one of those behind putting the current curriculum together.
He told Peggy Giakoumelos, there is a lot of confusion about how the three so-called cross-curriculum priorities: Australia's place in Asia, Indigenous Australia and sustainability announced in the curriculum should be taught.
