Australian woman Sara Connor has told her lawyers she will not appeal against her four-year sentence for her role in the death of a Bali police officer.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Connor outside Kerobokan jail, her lawyer Robert Khuana said he had told Connor that if she appealed she would have a good chance of being released on the basis that the initial decision was "too shallow".
However, she had been traumatised by the system and was worried about her sentence being increased if she appealed.
"We believe that we will win in the High Court but everything depends on Sara ... she decided ... that she doesn't want to appeal," Mr Khuana said.
Connor had until 5pm on Monday to change her mind but the deadline has passed.
On Friday prosecutors said they were appealing Connor's four-year sentence over the fatal assault of a police officer Wayan Sudarsa last August, which they believed was too short. They notified Connor of the appeal on Monday.
Her British boyfriend David Taylor was handed a six-year term.
Taylor became embroiled in a fight with Mr Sudarsa after confronting him over Connor's lost purse on Kuta Beach, which contained around $A300.
While Connor has maintained she did nothing but try to separate Mr Sudarsa and Taylor during the melee, Chief Judge Made Pasek found she effectively pinned him down.
Prosecutor Anak Agung Jayalantara said last week's sentence meted out to the 46-year-old mother of two from Byron Bay was "unfair".
Her sentence was half of what prosecutors had called for and two years less than Taylor's.
