AFL executives are expected to meet Communications Minister Stephen Conroy in Canberra today to discuss new laws governing the broadcast of sport on TV.
The Australian newspaper says the AFL bosses will make last-ditch arguments to the minister over the anti-siphoning list of sports that must appear on free-to-air TV.
Senator Conroy is expected to announce as early as tomorrow that four out of eight AFL games each round will be omitted from the list, allowing Foxtel to bid directly for the games.
