A man has been tasered after allegedly brandishing a block of wood at a police officer during a home invasion in central Queensland.

An officer used the device to detain the 28-year-old after he broke into a house at Baralaba and threatened occupants with a length of timber.

He's now facing a raft of charges, including serious assault police while armed, and will front Rockhampton Magistrates Court on November 23.
