Sir Peter Cosgrove has donned his military uniform for the last time before his retirement as governor-general later this month.
Sir Peter was the reviewing officer for the 65th Trooping of the Queen's Colour at the Royal Military College-Duntroon in Canberra on Saturday.
The annual parade celebrates the birthday of Queen Elizabeth, who turned 93 this year.
Sir Peter, a former chief of the defence force, was himself a graduate of the Royal Military College.
"It is over fifty-four years since I put on a uniform here at the Royal Military College as a staff cadet," the governor-general said in a statement.
