The Perth Wildcats returned to full strength and the winners' list in their NBL clash against the Cairns Taipans at Perth Arena on Sunday.

The Cats shrugged off Friday night's loss to the Sydney Kings to record a convincing 94-72 win over the Taipans.

They took control early, shooting at better than 60 per cent and opened up a 31-17 lead at the first break.

Bryce Cotton returned after two games on the sidelines with a thumb injury. It took him a while find his rhythm as he was held scoreless in the opening term.

But eventually he found his range.

Cotton had four points on the board by half-time and the Cats led 52-38. He then added 10 in the third term and finished with a game-high 21 points.

Perth coach Trevor Gleeson said he was happy to get his full squad back on the court.

"It's been a long time since we had out contracted 11 shooting up the same game," he said.

"I thought we put a good stamp on the game at the start. We came out with a good focus and energy. We made some subs and was able to keep the intensity up."

Terrico White chimed in with 15 points, as all 12 Wildcats hit the scoreboard, including 17-year-old debutant Wani Swaka Lo Buluk.

A consistent Nick Kay scored 11 points in the first half on his way to 15. He also pulled down six of his eight rebounds in the first two quarters.

Cairns were able to keep the margin to 13 points at the final break, as DJ Newbill matched Cotton's 10 points for the term.

But the Taipans managed only 14 points for the final quarter to add to coach Mike Kelly's frustrations.

"We just had a little team meeting and it's probably the most disappointing the group has been as a whole," he said.

"I thought we got totally outplayed by a tough team that plays every possession hard."

The loss sees the Taipans slump to a 1-10 record after winning their first game of the season. Their next game is against New Zealand at home on Sunday.

Perth improves their record to 11-2 with a massive weekend ahead.

They host the Sydney Kings on Friday night at Perth Arena, before heading to Melbourne to play United on Monday.
