Couple tied up in Sydney home invasion

A couple has been tied up by robbers who smashed through the glass doors of their Sydney home armed with a gun and a machete.

A Sydney couple has been tied up by three robbers who broke into their home armed with a machete and a handgun.

The 22-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man were in bed at their Dural home, in Sydney's northwest, when the trio smashed open the front glass doors about 2am (AEDT) on Sunday.

Two of the men were armed with a machete and a handgun and all were wearing balaclavas, police say.

The robbers took mobile phones, cash and the woman's handbag before tying the couple up and fleeing.

The couple freed themselves and contacted police.

Police say they were not injured.

Investigators ask anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Kenthurst Road area to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
