Chief executive Michael Jones will be free to continue his duties at the Brumbies for the time being.
An injunction against a decision by the Super Rugby club's board to stand down Jones was temporarily extended on Tuesday night while the ACT Supreme Court considered a decision.
Justice Richard Refshauge said he hoped to hand down a judgment in the coming days.
Jones launched urgent legal action last Tuesday after the board stood him down following a scathing radio interview on ABC Grandstand.
He won a temporary injunction to allow him to return to work the following day.
Lawyers for the Brumbies hit back on Tuesday, applying to dissolve an order in the injunction that prevented the club from standing Jones aside.
The Brumbies have been in South Africa, but arrived back in Canberra to the drama on Monday night.
The Australian conference leaders play their New Zealand counterparts, the Chiefs, at GIO Stadium on Saturday.
