Cowboys help police wrangle bull

It was anything but a typical night when calls started pouring in to a Washington state police department, and that's no bull.

911 calls started coming in just before midnight.

"There's a bull... you might want to run... it's comin this way partner... run... sirens,"

With that, the chase was on right through the center of downtown Auburn. At one point, the bull disappeared into the woods but quickly came back out onto the road.

"We've had wildlife in the city before but I don't remember a bull being downtown.

We were concerned for the bull and for citizens' safety," said Mike Hirman with the Auburn Police Department.

In a half-hour's time the bull ran about four miles, all the way from the east side to the west side of the town. That's when the bull's owner called in the cowboys. One of the cowboys, with lasso in hand, rode in the front of a squad car. Another one hung out of the passenger side and, eventually, the cowboys managed to lasso the loose bull.
