North Queensland coach Paul Green has revealed several players including co-captain Matt Scott missed training on Tuesday due to injuries sustained by Cronulla's dubious tactics.
The Cowboys mentor said the match review committee (MRC) should not wait for someone to get injured before taking action against illegal tactics after no Sharks player was charged.
But Green refused to criticise the MRC for their lack of action in the wake of North Queensland's NRL season opening win over the Sharks.
Only Cronulla playmaker James Maloney received a warning from the NRL over a "cannonball" tackle on North Queensland's James Tamou.
"We have had a couple of injuries, a couple of guys aren't training today because of a couple of incidents that happened in the game," Green said.
Asked if Tamou was among them, Green said: "Matt Scott won't have a run today - but he wasn't one of the worse ones."
Scott criticised the Sharks' tactics after their 20-14 win in Townsville, citing Maloney's hit on Tamou below the knees as the Test prop was standing in the tackle.
Canterbury prop David Klemmer missed the opening round after being charged for a similar "cannonball" tackle on Melbourne's Kenny Bromwich during a pre-season trial.
Green agreed that the MRC should not wait until a player was hurt before taking action.
But he added: "It's not my place to say it.
"The match review committee have a role to play there.
"They felt there wasn't a case to answer but that is for them to decide.
"The whole match review process is all about identifying illegal play and making the game as safe as it can be.
"If they feel they are happy with that process than I am too."
Scott complained after the match about several tackles in which Sharks players were accused of taking out their opponents' legs.
"It is pretty dangerous," Scott said.
"It is not what you want to see because you can suffer lower leg injuries like that."
Despite the injuries, Green named an unchanged side for Saturday night's clash at Parramatta with only Antonio Winterstein (concussion) in doubt.
