He's been on top of the world with Australia and broken records with Queensland, but Cowboys prop Matt Scott says Sunday's NRL decider is the biggest game of his career.
Long regarded as the league's premier front-rower, Scott, 30, has been a staple in representative teams for the best part of five years.
However, the Cowboys veteran says there is a different pressure that comes with the opportunity for him and co-captain Johnathan Thurston to deliver the club's first premiership in its history.
"When you think about what's at stake, absolutely it's different," Scott told AAP.
"We've played in some big games, whether it's Origin or Australia, but this somehow feels more personal."
Thurston is the only remaining member of the side that lost to the Wests Tigers in the 2005 grand final - although Scott was part of the extended squad.
The defeat proved difficult for the club to overcome, appearing in the finals just once over the following five seasons.
And while the club has now made the past five finals series, Scott said it was time for him and Thurston to repay the faith.
"We've both been here for such a long time. Bringing a maiden premiership, it's something that means so much to the club," he said.
"The club's done so much for both of us. There's a lot of desire to repay that faith that they've shown in us.
"It's hard to say, but it feels like the biggest game in our career.
"For me personally, that's what it feels like."
Scott also revealed he had sat down with Thurston on Tuesday after his record night at the Dally M to ensure he was focused on doing his part for the team.
Thurston surpassed eighth Immortal Andrew Johns with his fourth medal.
"He had a big night thinking about family, where he's come from and what he's been able to achieve," Scott said.
"I had a good chat to him (on Tuesday) morning and his mind is firmly now at the job at hand."
