Cowboys wait on JT, Scott NRL fitness

North Queensland co-captains Matt Scott and Johnathan Thurston remain in doubt as the Cowboys prepare for their NRL qualifying final against Melbourne.

North Queensland co-captains Matt Scott and Johnathan Thurston are expected to shrug off injury concerns to play in Saturday's NRL qualifying final against Melbourne.

Scott will be given every chance to prove his fitness by coach Paul Green despite still having pain and swelling in the broken finger which ruled him out of the Cowboys' win last weekend over Gold Coast.

Thurston is managing a corked thigh, picked up late in the 32-16 win over the Titans, but Green is confident the superstar halfback will be fine to take on the Storm at AAMI Park.
