Cricket NSW director suspended for conduct

Cricket NSW board member Danny Bhandari has been banned for two Sydney grade cricket matches over on-field misconduct.

Cricket NSW is considering further punishment for board member Danny Bhandari, who has already been banned for two matches over an on-field altercation in Sydney grade cricket.

Businessman Bhandari this week stood down from the board after being charged with engaging in disorderly or improper behaviour.

He pleaded not guilty but was found to have made "avoidable hand contact to the head" of a second-grade opponent, according to Cricket NSW.

It's understood University of NSW's Bhandari hit Manly-Warringah fast bowler Tom Kaye following his dismissal for a duck.

Bhandari has 14 days to appeal the suspension, having stood down from the Cricket NSW board until the matter is resolved.

"The Cricket NSW board will consider what if any further action is appropriate once the process is completed," the body said in a statement Friday.
