The family of an Australian backpacker who died five years ago say Croatian police have conceded it's unlikely she took her own life.
Britt Lapthorne, 21, disappeared in Dubrovnik on September 18, 2008, and her badly decomposed body was found 18 days later floating in nearby Boninovo Bay.
Her father, Dale Lapthorne, has told News Corp Australia that police in Croatia have finally conceded it's unlikely his daughter went swimming before her death or took her own life.
Police still suspect she died due to "misadventure", but her family believes she was murdered and her body weighed down.
"We do believe there are people who know what happened," Mr Lapthorne told News Corp.

He said an Australian Federal Police review had led to concessions from Croatian authorities and the unsolved case was part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
