Townsville have retained the services of award-winning head coach Shawn Dennis for another two years despite finishing the season second-last on the NBL ladder.
Dennis was named the 2015-16 coach of the year after guiding a youthful Crocodiles to an 11-17 win-loss record.
He was the first coach in the league's history to win the award having a losing record and not qualifying for the finals.
Dennis said he was proud of the struggling north Queenslanders' achievements on and off the court in the past year, with the club believing his retention would contribute to the stability needed for the success that had long eluded the Crocs.
They have not played finals since the 2011-12 season.
"I look forward to the development of the team during the 2016-17 season," Dennis said.
He will remain in Townsville at least until the end of 2017-18 having already spent three years with the franchise.
