Jarrod Croker has a mission to get Canberra's GIO Stadium rocking again.
To truly do that, the Green Machine need to knock off the Titans on the Gold Coast this Sunday night ahead of consecutive NRL home games back in the nation's capital.
Croker says his Raiders are desperate to avoid another slow start after slumping to 0-4 last year and losing their opening two matches of 2017.
"We traditionally haven't had a great start to the season and we've left ourselves chasing tails a little bit too much," the co-captain said on Thursday.
"Getting off to that start's massive and even more important for us because we've got two home games in a row so we want massive crowds and want to pack the place out.
"We want to start well up there, get the two points and really get Canberra rolling."
Canberra will have a short turnaround following the round-one showdown with the Titans at Cbus Stadium, fronting up to play Melbourne five days later.
Another Friday night at home follows in round three against Newcastle.
But turning around their poor early form won't be easy, with the Titans tipped to improve significantly after some assured off-season recruiting.
Canberra suffered a painful 30-28 defeat on the Gold Coast in round one last year, letting a 18-0 lead slip after scoring three unanswered tries in the first 10 minutes.
It continued a pattern of losing close games and giving up big leads, having gone down by six points or less 16 times during the past two years.
The club has embraced working with a sports psychologist as they look to turn around that dire record.
"That was the story of our season last year and we've addressed that during the pre-season," Canberra forward Siliva Havili said.
"If we can play that Raiders footy right throughout the whole 80 minutes is hopefully going to give us some good results."
