Cooper Cronk won't be a Rabbitoh in 2017, with South Sydney coach Michael Maguire backing halfback Adam Reynolds to remain a one-club player.

Cronk is currently considering a move to Sydney to be closer to partner and Fox Sports TV host Tara Rushton, but Maguire says rumours linking him to the Rabbitohs are completely false.

"No, we're not interested," Maguire told News Corp Australia. "We've got Adam and that's it.

"I'm not even sure what Coops is up to. We've put a lot of time into Adam and he's still got a lot of growth in his game. That's all we're thinking about."

Maguire, who was an assistant coach at Melbourne in the early years of Cronk's career, also said he had no idea where the speculation was coming from.

Instead, he claims he has been in constant dialogue with Reynolds regarding his future, saying he believes the Rabbitohs junior could make his Origin debut in 2016.

"If he performs well he'll put himself into the window. Laurie knows how good he is. And so do we," Maguire said.

"I think he's a long-termer. We've already got him for another two years and if the opportunity arises I'd like to see him extend for a long period of time."

Meanwhile, former Melbourne star and current Rabbitohs fullback Greg Inglis has shut down suggestions he will be on the move to Brisbane before his current contract ends in 2017.
