Brisbane's Cross River Rail project has topped Queensland's federal budget wishlist, even though the state government has said it can fund the project on its own.
The Palaszczuk Labor government has previously committed to bankrolling the $5.4 billion infrastructure project after failing to secure federal money from the coalition.
But Cross River Rail still remains at the top of state treasurer Jackie Trad's requests for the budget, which Scott Morrison will hand down on Tuesday.
"We want the Turnbull government to stop playing politics and start investing properly in the infrastructure and frontline services that our state needs as we grow," Ms Trad told AAP.
"We want them to put funding into Cross River Rail, which will get people home faster right across the southeast and deliver thousands of jobs."
Mr Turnbull has made multiple trips to Queensland in recent months, announcing a cash splash on infrastructure projects such as the Rookwood Weir in Rockhampton and upgrades to the M1 motorway.
Ms Trad has also called on the federal government to:
* Help fund the Rockhampton levee and Townsville Port upgrades.
* Cough up $400 million of health funding she says the state is still owed from the 2016-17 financial year.
* Renew an agreement to fund housing in remote indigenous communities.
* Rule out changes to the distribution of GST that would see Queensland lose $1.6 billion a year.
* Give parents certainty around long-term kindergarten funding, and reverse its decision to calculate Commonwealth childcare subsidies after state subsidies have been given.
