Star Adelaide midfielder Rory Sloane will miss another month of the AFL season because of a foot injury.

The Crows initially hoped vice-captain Sloane would be fit after their Alice Springs fixture against Melbourne on Sunday.

But the key onballer is now expected to miss three or four more weeks, according to the club's website.

Sloane has missed the past five games with separate injuries on the same foot.

The Crows expect club champion Matt Crouch (hamstring) and defenders Luke Brown (groin) and Wayne Milera (hamstring) to press for recalls against the Demons.

But skipper Taylor Walker has been put on the injured list for three to four weeks as he recovers from niggling injuries.

"He needs to get a block of training in," Adelaide's high performance manager Matt Hass told the club's website on Tuesday.

"Get a nice block of strength work in, just to generally improve the robustness of his whole body to make sure that he can stand up to the rigours of AFL football for the rest of the year."
